this is truly one of my favorite songs i have ever written. i love a cover. i love re-inventing a song. i love trying to have you hear what i hear in my head.
when i first wrote this song, it was meant to be a duet with dave grohl. i thought of it as an updated, super rock, islands in the stream.
it still gives me chills. i recordered it for my first full length "gone". here is the original one...
over the years, i dreamed of deconstructing this song. me and a piano and some mesmorizing loops behind it. i mentioned it to van and he took it from there. he brought in fractal for programming and the rest is history.
